Heart 2 Heart - Shadows & Shades

This week's challenge over at Heart 2 Heart Challenge is to create something using the theme/technique of "ombre".  "Ombre" is so trendy right now.  What is "ombre" you might ask?  Here is the definition that they posted over at H2H.

When I think of ombre, I picture the shades of water or of a sunset.  So I created this card using only one retired stamp set called Relax.  The rest was made using a sponge finger dauber and inks.  For the water the inks used were Sky, Crystal Blue & Pacifica.  For the sunset sky I used Buttercup, Honey & Sunset.  The stamped water was 2nd generation Pacifica, the fishermen & boat were stamped with Outdoor Denim.  The pine trees were stamped with New England Ivy.  The fish in the water was stamped 3rd generation New England Ivy.  All products mentioned are Close to my Heart.

It is a simple card with not a lot of flash and bling, but I love the colors.  It also reminds me of my hubby, he is a simple yet wonderful man that loves fly fishing.  I hope you like it also!

Until my next post, happy crafting!

Rediscover Close to my Heart!

There has been a lot of talk in the industry that Close to my Heart wants to respond to. You've seen bankruptcy and changes in product offering.  What is the future?  As a leader and innovator, Close to my Heart wants to respond.  More than ever, memory keeping matters.  Watch this video about Close to my Heart, a strong, debt free company that has been around for nearly 30 years!  I'm proud to be a part of this wonderful company!

Blog Address Changing

For my wonderful Blog followers, I just received an email from our Corporate offices that I need to change my blog web address.  I did not realize that my blog address pamtctmh.blogspot.com is going against company policy with it having ctmh in the web address.  Big oops on my part!!  So I will be changing the web address to just my name - pamtrostle.blogspot.com.

Please make note of this change so you can still find me!

New blog address - http://pamtrostle.blogspot.com

Thanks!!

CTMH Page Protectors for Creative Memories Coverset Albums!

I just shared this video and information over on my Facebook business page, but wanted to share it with you here also.

Do you have Creative Memories albums that you are still working with but concerned because as of the end of July you will not be able to purchase their albums (coversets) and page protectors any more?  I have a Close to my Heart solution for you!  As you have heard me mention, Close to my Heart has expanded into Australia and New Zealand.  Our Corporate Executive Team is "Down Under" right now meeting the new Consultants and introducing them to the wonderful world of Close to my Heart!!

A fellow Australian Consultant Shaunna Richards created this video to show how Close to my Heart Page Protectors can be converted to fit the Creative Memories coverset albums.  I am so happy Shaunna created this video to share with us!  And oh my gosh, the cost savings she points out in the video is amazing!!  Watch the video and then you can go to my site here to order the page protectors she shows in the video.  I just love hearing her accent & could listen to her talk for hours!  I hope you enjoy her video as well.  And if you need help ordering, please contact me for assistance!

All the Scrappin' Ladies!!

Happy Sunday to you!!  I hope you are enjoying a beautiful day like I am!

I shared this on my Facebook business page yesterday and thought I would share it here also, in case you didn't see it over there.

This was one of the Corporate skits/dances from Convention 2010.  I was not there in Washington DC, I had just signed up as a Consultant & didn't know what I would be missing by not going to Convention.  A fellow Consultant sister of mine shared it on Facebook and like I mentioned I had to share it!  As you can guess I can't hear Beyonce's song withouth thinking of this version!!  I hope you enjoy it too & have a great week!!

July Class layout using Buzz and Bumble

Here is the layout my ladies made for our monthly scrapbooking class that was held on Monday July 1st.  I know I have said it before, but I just love this night with this wonderful group of women!!  Our Hostess Kayleen picked Buzz and Bumble papers preferring the striped side with a theme of Family, Heritage or Travel.

Supplies used all CTMH unless noted - Buzz and Bumble WOTG Kit
Artiste for Family title, Art Philosophy for journaling accents
Stamp sets - Family Love, Buzz and Bumble WOTG Kit stamp set
Dark Chocolate Striped Grosgrain Ribbon
Color Ready Trinkets Wooden Shapes
Bamboo Waxy Flax (this is a retiring list item)
Champagne, Cocoa, Sunset & Goldrush cardstock

And this is an extra layout I made using the same papers, I just flipped the striped paper over for the bumble bee side with my hubby and I and a Blake Shelton song in mind that I love.  We went and saw him in concert last year in Billings.  My hubby doesn't particularly care for the song, well let me rephrase that, he likes the beat and says the song is okay, he just doesn't like hearing me sing it! :)

Same supplies as above used with a few extras - Burlap Ribbon
Honeycomb & Glamour Uppercase Alphabet Stamp Sets

This shows the title up close a little better.  I printed the lyrics to the "Honey Bee" song on cardstock in Champagne so that you can see it but it doesn't over power the title.

And this one doesn't show it very well, but in the Goldrush circle it has the words "I'll be your" repeated over and over for "I'll be your Honey Bee".

I see ideas for cards and such that I like everywhere and save them to come back to later to use and I wish I could give credit to where I found this card we also made at class, but whomever's blog I found it on did not watermark it.  I printed it out & can't figure out where I got it from now.  So not my idea, but too cute not to remake and share!

This is the flowerpot card we made using (retired) Brown Bag cardstock I had because to me it most closely resembled a terra cotta flower pot.  The sentiment came from the June Stamp of the Month - A Flowering Bunch.  I told the ladies they could stamp the flowers from the June SOTM stamp set and color them in for a flatter card or use the Just Blooms Floret Paper Shapes.  The stamped card will probably run through the Post Office machine just fine, but the Floret Paper Shapes are just way too cute as well.  It is a personal choice.

Here are the instructions for cutting this card it you would like to make your very own.  I hope you enjoy it as much as I did and my ladies did!

1.  Start with cardstock 4” x 12”, score at 6” and fold in half.
2.  With card folded in half, cut 1 ½” off the end that opens.  One piece will become the rim of the flower pot.
3.  Place card on cutter with the top right hand corner lining up with the track and the bottom right hand corner at the edge of the trimmer and cut.  Flip the card over and repeat, you now have our flower pot card.
4.  Ink edges of flower pot card and 1 of the 1 ½” x 4” rim pieces.
5.  Stamp & decorate card and rim pieces.
6.  Attach rim piece onto flower pot using foam squares lining up the top of flower pot with top edge of the rim piece.

Until my next post, happy crafting!
